Children’s groups meet in the church building during the 10.45 Sunday service. A variety of age related activities are provided with an emphasis on fun alongside opportunities for spiritual growth. All the leaders are CRB checked and there is also training in first aid, health and hygiene, as well as skills and experience in Christian children’s work.
Creche – for 0- 2 year olds, meets in the Rainbow room and is staffed by a rota of adult leaders, some of whose children are in this group. A variety of toys, games and stories keep these young children occupied and happy. Nicola Maunder supervises this group and organises the staffing.
Sparklers – for 3-5 year olds, meets in the lounge, is overseen by Lucy Elias with a rota of adult and youth leaders, who meet once a term to pray and share ideas for developing this work. The Light materials produced by Scripture Union form the basis for the sessions in this group. Activities can include stories, drama, singing, craft and games. We currently have 20 children in this group learning that Jesus is really with them in every part of their lives.
Powerpack – for 5-11 year olds, meets in the hall and is overseen by Sara Elms with a rota of adult and youth leaders. Scripture Union Trailblazers and Splash materials are used as the basis for the teaching in this group. There is a mixture of all together activities such as worship and games with small group discussions and crafts or cooking. We currently have approximately 28 children in this group developing individual relationships with Jesus.
