At Bookham Baptist Church
Our young people are split into two age groups, The Tribe (school years 7-9) and The Group (year 10 ).
The Tribe meet during a Sunday morning service with the aim of engaging with Biblical teaching in a fun and relevant way. They also meet on a Friday evening to socialise, to have fun and to explore Christianity and life issues.
The Group meet during the week in small groups, known as cells. We have two cells which meet on a Tuesday night and one which meets on a Friday night. Each cell is unique and varies in size and personality but all have shared values and follow a similar format.
Young people aged 14 are encouraged to attend the evening service on a Sunday, which tends to be more accessible to this age group. The service is followed by a social time where we often watch a film, go for a meal or get a takeaway.
We have various other activities and events during the year that seek to build community, to disciple and grow individuals in their gifting, and to show God’s love to our friends and locality.
In addition to these groups, the church also operates a creche for under 3's during the morning church services. If you'd like to know more about any of these groups, please do contact the church office.
Safe With us
All of our adult leaders and assistants have been carefully chosen for their abilities to work with children and young people. In addition to their warmth and concern for the welfare of the children, they have all been police checked to ensure compliance with the Children's Act and other relevent legislation.
