Youth Cells
What are Youth Cell Groups?
Youth cells are not small dark rooms with large metal bars to keep you in! Rather they are groups of young people that meet to chill out together, and to discover more about what it means to know and follow Jesus Christ, and to support and care for one another.
Who is Jesus?
Jesus is God's son, who came to earth to enable us to know God. If you'd like to find out more about Jesus and what it means to be a Christian, click here.
What do we do in the Youth Cell Groups?
Typically a meeting consists of informal chat (with some combination of chocolate and biscuit refreshment), an icebreaker (not a ten ton polar bear, but a way for us to get to know one another), and a time for worshipping Jesus, maybe in the form of drawing, painting, dancing, listening to music, or just reflecting on who God is.
We also seek to find out more about Jesus through studying the bible (which is not a dusty old book from antiquity, but rather the living word of God). Finally, we also seek to talk to God ('prayer'), and listen for Him speak to us !
We try to plan something different every week.
We also have socials once a month. These range from a black tie dinner, to watching a film and eating pizza. Socials that we have recently held are; 10 pin bowling, picnic (in the summer), walking at Norbury Park, BBQs and games evenings.
Who is it for? Am I invited?
The group is for anyone in the 14 to 18 age range. You don't have to be a Christian, or know anything about Christianity to come. We'd love to meet YOU (not merely your knowledge of the bible, fashion sense, or intellect).
When and where do you meet?
We meet in the church building on a Tuesday evening at 8pm, and Sunday morning at 10:45. If you'd like directions, click here.
